Kitras Art Glass Pavilion, 3:00 p.m. + 8:30 p.m. (Saturday) + 6:30 p.m. (Sunday)
PRESENTED BY KITRAS ART GLASS
Have you ever wanted to belt out your favourite karaoke tunes backed by the funkiest band in all of Wellington County? Well, The Boo Radley Project is about to make your dreams come true (and yes, that might be a song on the karaoke list).
The eight piece genre-bending collective has learned a heck load of excellent karaoke tunes but hasn’t bothered to learn the lyrics. That’s cause you’ll be stepping in as lead singer for the band and will sing it out, karaoke-style (except there is actually people playing and not that cheesy instrumental track).
Boo’s repertoire includes everyone from Billy Idol and Rage Against the Machine to Annie Lennox and Smash Mouth … so you best get warming up your pipes. We’ll provide the lyrics … all you’ll have to do is sing-along! If you’ve got requests … post ’em right here, on Boo’s Facebook page.
The band will perform KARAOKE LIVE! three times throughout the Riverfest weekend:
- Saturday, August 19, 3:00 p.m.
- Saturday, August 19, 8:30 p.m.
- Sunday, August 20, 6:30 p.m.
You can sign up in advance by visiting the Kitras Art Glass Pavilion anytime during the Riverfest weekend … you’ll be able to pick from the binder with all of the karaoke songs that Boo can possibly do and add your name to the list.
Who are Boo?
They’ve been likened to everyone from Tower of Power and Mr. Bungle to Primus and Wilco. But really, they’re just Boo, a ragtag group of brothers serving up a quirky, fresh approach to music.
Their live shows are high energy featuring an eclectic mix of instrumentation from electric mandolin to a three piece brass section. In addition to the music, the band uses projections to compliment the live performance, creating an immersive, sensory experience. 2017 marks their fifth performance in some capacity at Riverfest Elora and we couldn’t be happier to have the boys back. Their long-awaited debut LP Bred To Be Loyal will be released Spring 2017.
They also want you to know they had a baby dolphin named after them. It’s called Boo and is swimming somewhere off the shores of Hawaii.
If you can’t make it to KARAOKE LIVE!, make sure you check out their Sunday show on the Dine Alone Records Wax on Wheels Stage at 3:55 p.m.
